It looks like it really is better down where it’s wetter when it comes to first birthday parties.

While Rob Kardashian woke up from his social media slumber to post pictures of his famous family celebrating daughter Dream’s first birthday, his ex, Blac Chyna, was busy putting the finishing touches on her next-day bash.

While Blac Chyna was noticeably absent from the KarJenner celebration on Dream’s actual birthday (which isn’t surprising, as she’s suing the entire family) Rob K was busy posting pics to Twitter documenting his firstborn’s lavish celebration. Dream’s famous aunts were also there to share the happy get-together with their millions of followers, including the youngest Kardashian’s gorgeous rose gold floral cake that looked (almost) too beautiful to eat.

Not to be outdone, Blac Chyna followed up Dream’s Kardashian bash with her own party the following day. It was an ethereal, under the sea-themed blowout that spared no expense. There was even an in-costume mermaid swimming around the pool for all of Dream’s many guests to gawk at as they munched on the seashell-lined five-tiered cake.

With not a Kardashian in sight, Chyna and new beau Playboi Carti hosted the event alongside the lash mogul’s son with rapper Tyga, King Cairo. Baby Dream seemed to be a bit dazed from all of the attention, and managed to sit through a joyful serenade of “Happy Birthday to You” without smearing cake frosting on her custom Givenchy shirt.

While the littlest Kardashian has a lot to be thankful for following this first milestone, here’s hoping that Chyna and Rob K can reconcile before the tot reaches 2, and throw a shared party for their daughter next year.
