Singer Fergie and her husband, Josh Duhamel, shocked the Hollywood scene earlier this month by announcing their divorce after eight years of marriage. Now the Black Eyed Peas singer has made a shocking confession: She still loves her ex-husband.
In an interview with E! News, Fergie confessed that she still has deep feelings for Josh, and that she always will.
“We’re great friends, Josh and I, there’s so much love that we have for each other,” the singer said. “We really like each other, we have fun with each other. We’re just not a romantic couple anymore.”
That news should cheer up fans saddened by the couple’s divorce, and calm concerns for their 4-year-old son, Axl. Fergie and Josh intend to maintain a role in each other’s lives, and to both have active roles in the life of their son.
“But we are still Axl’s parents through and through,” she explained. “And our families – each other’s families, the cousins, my nieces and nephews – it’s all the same. So that’s the only thing that’s changed.” Fergie’s words will come as a shocking confession to anyone used to acrimonious celebrity divorces.
Fergie rose to prominence as a singer with the Black Eyed Peas in the early 2000s. She met Josh Duhamel on the set of his television series “Las Vegas” and the two began dating shortly thereafter. They married in 2009. After taking a few years off to focus on motherhood, the singer just released her second solo album “Double Duchess” after two years worth of delays.
“L.A. Love (La La),” the most recent single from the album, peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard charts.
