Move over Elsa, there’s a new Disney princess in town.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, star of the upcoming Disney animated movie Moana, has revealed the movie’s official poster on Twitter.
The image shows the titular Moana, played by Auli’i Cravalho, alongside Johnson’s character, Maui, and a pair of animal sidekicks, true to Disney’s standard cartoon formula.
The poster shows the heroes standing on a dry ocean bed with clear blue waves swirling around them, appearing to tie in with Moana’s ability to influence the sea, as shown in one of the movie’s earlier promotional clips.

According to Dwayne Johnson, a new trailer for the movie will make a debut on this Thursday’s Good Morning America, during Johnson’s appearance on the show – for those who are excited to see this movie, it’ll be well worth tuning in to get a first look at the new footage.
For those who are eager to see the new movie, there’s not long left to wait. Moana will be showing in theaters from November 23, just in time for Thanksgiving.
If Moana is anywhere near as popular as Disney’s other recent animated films, such as Zootopia and Finding Dory, the emergence of the company’s new Pacific Island princess may see Frozen’s queen Elsa and princess Anna finally losing some of their popularity among young girls worldwide.
Hopefully they’ll be able to let it go.
