Last night, the internet erupted in a somewhat mixed response as fans of the popular comic book character Hellboy found out that the character would be returning to the big screen.
For a brief moment, all were exuberantly happy at the news, until, shocked, fans realized that this new movie would not be the long awaited third instalment in Guillermo del Toro’s trilogy, and would not see actor Ron Perlman reprise his iconic role.
To his credit, Perlman, a longtime advocate of Hellboy 3, has backed down gracefully, and instead dedicated himself to championing what he feels is an even more worthy cause:
Now back my real Third Act, fighting to take Democracy out of the claws of fascists and racists. What any real superhero must do.

This new Hellboy movie will be directed by Neil Marshall, best known for The Descent, and will star David Harbour, who plays Chief Hopper in the Netflix smash hit Stranger Things.
This new movie will be R-rated, because of course it will, and will be the kind of complete franchise reboot that literally nobody was hoping for.
Fans of the first two Hellboy movies have naturally taken to the internet to express their displeasure.
