Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has only just hit theaters, but director James Gunn is already hard at work at the third movie in the series.
Gunn known for many things, not least being as open as possible about the process of making his movies without giving away key spoilers. In a recent interview with USA Today, Gunn stated that he’s already hard at work on the screenplay for Vol. 3, and that he expects the plot will focus more around one character than it has done in previous films.
According to Gunn, this new story involves him having “some pretty intense conversations” with Zoe Saldana about the role of her character, Gamora, in the third movie in Gunn’s trilogy.
Those who’ve seen Guardians Vol. 2 will know that the movie takes some time to explore Gamora’s family life, and with the Guardians going up against Thanos in Infinity War, it’s likely that we’ll get to see more of this the next time the characters appear in a movie.
With Guardians 3 set after Infinity War, there’s a good chance that the movie will explore the fallout from Gamora’s war against Thanos. Fans of the character will likely get a chance to see more about where she came from, and what her childhood was like as the adopted daughter of a Mad Titan.
