We are rapidly approaching the close of Game of Thrones' sixth season, and what's probably the most anticipated of clashes is upon us. After seasons of maiming, murdering, raping and torturing, Ramsay Bolton is about to be on a real field of battle opposite the Starks, and there is going to be a lot of blood. They're not going to resurrect Jon Snow just to kill him again, right? HBO's giving us all an early look with promo photos that look cool as hell while we prepare for The Battle of the Bastards.
It's always good to see Wun Wun, but with this big battle I have… well, I'm concerned that he isn't going to make it. Really, I'm concerned about everyone's life right now. Except Ramsay. Ramsay I think we all want dead and mounted on a pike.
With all of these promo photos, it seems like we're not going to be straying terribly far from the battlefield. In fact, there's no indication we're going literally anywhere else for an extended episode. HBO is also heavily submitting this episode for this year's Emmys. And yet, even in the description for the Emmy Awards, they'll only describe the episode as "Terms of surrender are rejected and accepted."
Well played, guys. Not that we really want to know how the episode ends right now. As the penultimate of the season, it's pretty clear that whatever happens here is going to be pretty damn final for a few people. I'm not going to enjoy saying goodbye to Tormund before he and Brienne got a chance to get together. C'mon.
Episode 9 of Game of Thrones will be coming out on HBO on June 19th.
