The “Really Don’t Care” singer hinted a week ago on Instagram that huge news was coming soon but we were not expecting this!
The longtime friends announced Tuesday that their new label, called Safehouse Records, will be a joint music venture with Island Records and their manager Phil McIntyre.
This is a big step for the two stars, who are clearly looking to take control of their music.
"I've worked closely with both Nick and Phil for years and we share the same point of view when it comes to making music,” Demi said. “It's incredibly exciting to be part of this new company where I'm in control of all aspects of my career. I can't wait to share what we're working on!"
Not only will Demi’s new album be released under Safehouse, Nick and Demi will also be signing new talent under their label.
“Our focus at Safehouse Records is to put artists in control of their art while providing them the best tools to manage their careers,” said Nick and Phil in a joint statement. “Through our partnership with Island Records they will also have access to the best marketing and promotion available.”
Since Nick and Demi are collaborating on this new music venture, that must mean they'll collaborate on their albums together too, right?
