The multifaceted world of Game of Thrones can be difficult for the uninitiated to break into.

With all the politics, mysticism, prophecies, and even the occasional dragon popping up, it can be difficult to keep straight the events that have occurred over the past six seasons.

Thankfully, though, for those who need a quick refresher on why it matters that winter is coming, or who’s vying for the Iron Throne, Samuel L Jackson is here to provide his own unique take on the television adaptation of George RR Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire book series.

In a new recap video posted by HBO, Jackson brings his own signature turn of phrase to Westeros and its neighboring isles, as the actor, best known for his performance in movies such as Pulp Fiction, The Avengers, and the Star Wars prequel trilogy, explains why audiences should care about more than just the dragons when watching Game of Thrones.

As this video features Jackson in all of his eloquent glory, be warned that the language is colorful to say the least, but at this point, it’s par for the course when dealing with Jackson outside of a PG13 movie.

With so much ground to cover, Jackson’s seven-minute recap doesn’t touch on many of the details of the show and its various twists and turns: in practice, the movie, entitled Game of Thrones Beginner’s Guide: Uncensored does exactly what its name suggests, giving a brief overview without managing to spoil any of the key events of the series.

Jackson’s narration at least provides some diversion for Game of Thrones fans who are now preparing to wait out a long winter before the show returns in the spring of 2017.
