It's only May 2016, but apparently everyone decided that now was the time to just throw out details left and right for Star Wars: Episode VIII, which will be released on Christmas 2017. Spoilers abound, obviously, but folks are getting hyped.
One of the main details is that Episode VIII intends to heavily feature the Knights of Ren. It appears that there is to be a major showdown where Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren square off against Luke Skywalker and Rey, leading to an all-out battle. Which, if that's true, I am all for it.
Witnesses at Malin Head state that they saw seven men dressed all in black and carrying medieval type weaponry. It appears that the Knights are probably going to in some way interrupt Rey's training, because that's what happens when you're training to be a Jedi.
Though some folk seem to think that Luke is insistent Kylo Ren has to die and Rey is resistant to killing him, that seems to make Luke drift far from his roots to save his father's soul at any cost. Of course, this film is a lot darker than The Force Awakens, so who knows? At least we know there'll be X-Wings in it.
We'll just have to see Christmas 2017. In the meantime, why not get down on some Rogue One this year?
