Star Wars: Episode VIII doesn’t even have a title yet, but the rumors have already run rampant all over the internet. I don’t put much stock into movie rumors. Especially on a film set that’s crazily protected like Star Wars. However, a certain one is transitioning from rumor to fact.

There are reports that everyone’s man crush, Tom Hardy, is joining the cast of Episode VIII. When news first broke on Monday, many were linking his involvement to everyone’s favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett. But now it seems Hardy’s role will be much smaller. The Daily Express reports that Hardy will have a cameo as a First Order stormtrooper, just like Daniel Craig did in The Force Awakens. Hmm… Kinda overwhelming IMO.

The report said that Hardy’s stormtrooper will recognize John Boyega’s Finn from their First Order days. Here’s how they described the scene:

“Finn will get quite the surprise as Hardy slaps him on the behind, completely unaware that he’s been spotted. Thinking he’s been captured, Finn actually finds Hardy’s stormtrooper just remembers him from the First Order’s training days, and wants to catch up with his old friend. Hardy then congratulates Finn on his apparent promotion as a Resistance Infiltrator, when actually he’s on their side.”

Because he’s playing a stormtrooper, it’s probably safe to assume his face will be covered the whole time (again, just like Craig.)

Now, one of the reasons people are taking this rumor so seriously is because Carrie Fisher AKA Princess Leia retweeted this:

*Gasp* So I guess be on the lookout for a stormtrooper with Hardy’s voice when Episode VIII drops December 2017.
