Late in 2015, one of New York City's many wine bottle-sized rats earned the title of Pizza Rat when his relationship with a slice of NYC's beloved pizza was broadcast to the world via YouTube.
You remember the furry little guy and his cheesy, triangular love that got away:
Only a month later, in October 2015, Doughnut Rat came along to steal the spotlight by dragging what looks like a sugar doughnut across the East Broadway subway playform at 2:30 in the morning.
Three months after that, back in January 2016, another rat (or, for all we know, the same rat) dubbed himself Pita Rat by claiming supremacy over another of his or her kind in a battle for a flap of the round agent for Mediterranean, Balkan, and Middle Eastern cuisines.
This week, two NYC subway rats battled it out for yet another food moniker when a churro landed on tracks. Rashedas Bridal Beauty was there to capture the scene, while a busker played some all too perfect Flamenco guitar in the background.
Wear the title of Churro Rat like a badge of honor, you gigantic freak of a rat. You earned it.
