8 Breakfast Bowls to Wake Up Right

Until recently a breakfast bowl used to mean hot or cold cereal, most likely in milk, maybe with some fruit if handy. Nowadays breakfast bowls have moved beyond your typical wheat and oats to find bowls filled with rice, quinoa, and other exotic grains, or no grains at all with chia seeds, nuts, yogurt, fruits and even the occasional egg. They are complete meals in bowl form that can be catered to any diet including vegan, paleo, or gluten-free.

The fact that they can be something to everyone at least partially explains their popularity. Being wholesome, natural, and relatively portable complete meals is also a big plus. They can be sweet or savory, hot or cold, dry or wet, it really doesn’t matter as long as everything fits comfortably in a bowl.

Another added bonus is that a good handful of these can be made the night before, and ready to eat first thing in the morning. We know how tough it is to find the time or the focus to put together a breakfast half awake, and these 8 bowls should give you just what you need to put that bounce in your step as you head out the door.
