Breaking Bad: "Tread Lightly" Cocktail Recipe

Breaking Bad:

In the dry heat of the New Mexico desert, mixology takes on a whole new meaning. Craft cocktail bars take the form of meth lab trailers and bar keepers could be retired high school chemistry teachers recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. Ok, maybe comparing the art of cocktails to cooking up a deadly illegal narcotic is a bit of a stretch, not to mention risque, but the triumphant return of AMC's Breaking Bad has got The Savory team so jacked. In honor of their last season, we pay tribute to Walter White, Jesse Pinkman and the rest of the amazing cast of characters (especially Badger) with our latest cocktail creation. When you drink it, remember Heisenberg's warning: “Tread lightly.”

Tread Lightly

1.5 oz Dry Gin

1 oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur

.5 oz Green Chartreuse

.5 oz Orgeat Syrup

2 dashes Orange Flower Water

1 Egg White

Pernod rinse in glass

Rock Candy Garnish

In a Martini glass, pour a small amount of Pernod and let it sit in glass. Place the remaining ingredients in a cocktail shaker and dry shake (without ice) 26 times. Add ice into shaker and shake 52 times. Swirl Pernod in glass, coating the entire glass and dump remaining Pernod. Strain contents of cocktail shaker into glass and garnish with bright blue, meth-colored rock candy. Learn how to make your own Heisenberg Blue Rock Candy here. Enjoy your fully legal cocktail with no fear that your DEA brother-in-law is breathing down your neck.
