Bros Make Smoothie From 7 Different Movie Theater Foods, It Tastes as Bad as It Sounds

For decades, movie theaters didn't sell food.

Instead, from the early 1900s through to the 1920s, moviegoers were forced to smuggle in their own foods, usually candies popular at the time like Milk Duds, Goobers, and Red Vines, into old-school nickelodeons. That tradition continued when upscale, palacial movie theaters began to take the place of older movie houses.

Finally, in the Great Depression, theaters started to install their own vending machines before upgrading to entire concession stands, which opened the door to the most famous of all movie theater foods: popcorn.

In the decades since, we've masticated on everything from nachos to ice cream in movie theaters—so many different foods and flavors that one couldn't possibly be crazy enough to try them all at once, right?

Wrong.

Rhett and Link of YouTube channels Good Mythical Morning and Good Mythical MORE combined seven such foods—popcorn, a hot dog, Red Vines, nachos, Whoppers, Milk Duds, and Cherry Coke—into a blender, and Link drank it, nearly vomiting it up in the process.

But he kept it down, subjecting himself to the grossness for a good cause.

"Join us in donating to the American Refugee Committee at http://arcrelief.org," they wrote in the video description. "Every donation goes toward assisting in their mission to provide refugees with health, education, shelter, and protection services."

The task wouldn't have been much of a challenge if not for one particularly ill-fitting ingredient, according to Link: "It's the hot dog. … Everything else would have been okay, even the Cherry Coke."
