I believe it was the late great Aaliyah who paraphrased 19th-century educational writer William Edward Hickson when said "If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again, you can dust it off and try again, try again."
But this German prospective beer drinker probably should have handed the mallet to a friend after his first attempt at tapping a keg at the Brauerei & Gasthof Zwanzger in Bavaria resulted in a shattered beer stein. After his breaking the porcelain mug was met with roomwide giggling, he had another go at tapping the small keg.
The result was even messier and funnier than his first try. By a long shot—literally, the spigot shot clear across the room. Luckily it didn't take down any delighted spectators, though most were drench with foamy beer
The video, posted to the pub's Facebook page, has gone viral since being posted on April 22. Three days later, it's been shared 3.9 million times.
Thankfully, it's not even close to the first mess the Brauerei & Gasthof Zwanzger has seen—the pub has been in existence since 1639. The floors have to be 50 percent beer by now anyway.
