The name of this drink illicits the feeling of a cocktail that is ready to to be drunk and drunk fast. And, that is certainly not too far off. Its moniker was derived from the German word “schlingen” meaning “to toss back quickly”. A Gin Sling is so balanced and refreshing, it’s hard not to do so. Here’s how to make it The Savory way:

Gin Sling

1 oz Simple Syrup

3/4 oz Lemon Juice

1 dash Angostura Bitters

2 oz Gin

1 oz Sweet Vermouth

Soda Water fill

Lemon Twist Garnish

Combine the simple syrup, lemon, bitters, gin and sweet vermouth in a shaker. Ice and shake 26 times. Strain into an iced Collins Glass. Fill with soda water and garnish with a fancy lemon twist.
