Food blogs are in agreement. It’s time to give up the ridiculous unicorn food theme.

Following the viral sensation that is Industry Kitchen’s unicorn pizza, various food news outlets including Foodbeast and Eater have condemned the entire pink, sparkly effort, and announced that it’s high time we all put unicorn food behind us.

This is a shame, of course, because the unicorn pizza actually looks pretty darn tasty.

Unicorn pizza exists and it’s basically a giant sugar cookie covered in fluffy cotton candy ✨ #cosmobites

Described as “basically a giant sugar cookie covered in fluffy cotton candy”, it’s really hard to argue with the idea that people might like to try this. After all, we all love colorful cookies, and we all love cotton candy, and if a giant cookie with cotton candy also happens to be covered in multicolored sprinkles what harm can it do?

Sure, we now have iced lattes that are blacker than the bedroom of the moodiest teenage goth, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still a place for good old fashioned, bright, colorful pink food – especially if the food in question is a sugar cookie that’s masquerading as a pizza.

At the end of the day, food should be fun. If someone wants to eat a bright pink cookie, maybe that’s their choice. Besides, the fact that Foodbeast and Eater are even writing about the unicorn pizza suggests that they think it’s something their readers want to know about.

So let’s all bask in the warm, sugary glow of the unicorn pizza. Long may this trend reign, as we all enjoy the most adorable, over-the-top pink food and drink that the world has to offer.
