The People of the Sun Cocktail Recipe

Once again our friend Christopher James, Director of Spirits and Mixology at the Ryland Inn in New Jersey, has lent us his creative genius behind the bar. This cocktail includes a new kid on the block in the single malt whiskey category: French-made Brenne. It is a phenomenal cocktail for the Indian summer/fall transition that we are now in. It blends the waning taste of summer with the autumnal palate of a single malt whiskey.

People of the Sun

2 oz Brenne French Single Malt Whiskey

.25 oz Pineapple Gomme Syrup

4 Dashes Lilikoi Bitters by Hawaii Bitters Co.

1 Dash Angostura Bitters

Stir all ingredients with ice for 40 repetitions and strain over a large cube in an old-fashioned glass. Garnish with a swath of pomelo peel.
