Shake Shack is shaking things up in the burger world but in a good way. I never really thought of fast food burger joints as fine dining or spent a lot of time reflecting on my experience after I left the establishment. It's fast food! But Shake Shack CEO wants employees to have a different mindset and he wants customers to have a different experience.
It's one simple line from CEO Randy Garutti that has Shake Shack in the news. He gave his team a challenge right before the most recent opening in Boston, "I want to challenge you to put us out of business." Before this could be misunderstood he made himself crystal clear.
"Put us out of business because you are so damn generous with what you give the people who walk in this door. If there's a kid crying, who's going to walk over with a free cup of custard?
With that type of mentality leading the company it's clear why Shake Shacks are leading the fast food burger transformation.
