Spring is officially upon us, which means waking up to the delightful sound of our neighbor’s lawn mower and birds chirping at the ass-crack of dawn. Along with an added hour of sunlight and the promise of warmer weather, we now have something else to officially look forward to—and it involves ditching our hot coffees and trading them up for a brand new Frappuccino flavor at Starbucks.
For those who are searching for the sweet taste of spring in a cup, you can look no further than the new Cherry Blossom Frappuccino being offered by America’s favorite coffee giant. While the new flavor may just sound like a drink chock-full of flowers, it’s actually comprised of a strawberries and cream blend topped with a white chocolate and matcha drizzle, whipped cream, and an additional sprinkle of matcha powder. It's basically pure sugar, but that's OK.
Starbucks’ new blended drink is inspired by the sakura blossom, which is the national flower of Japan and a symbol of renewal and simplicity. It also marks a time for new beginnings, so if you were behaving badly this winter, feel free to get your hands on this Frap ASAP and repent for the new season.
Usually only available in Japan, this limited edition Cherry Blossom Frappuccino is now being offered stateside for less than a week, so you better get your hands on it sometime between today and March 20, which is the first official day of spring.
