Doctors In Canada Are Protesting And The Reason Makes Absolutely No Sense

Canadians have the stereotype that they’re just too darn nice. They live up there with their snowy, cold climate, syrup, and all those moose, and they are just loving life. It seems like you just can’t meet a mean Canadian. Further proof of this: Canadian doctors are protesting because they believe they are paid too much. As if such a thing existed! You darn Canadians.

In a letter stating their position, over 500 doctors and residents, as well as around 150 medical students, laid out their beliefs: “We, Quebec doctors who believe in a strong public system, oppose the recent salary increases negotiated by our medical federations.”

The letter goes on, “These increases are all the more shocking because our nurses, clerks and other professionals face very difficult working conditions, while our patients live with the lack of access to required services because of the drastic cuts in recent years and the centralization of power in the Ministry of Health.”

The doctors of Quebec believe the money could and should be better spent elsewhere. They blame the Ministry of Health for the poor health and lack of education about health in their country. “We, Quebec doctors, are asking that the salary increases granted to physicians be canceled and that the resources of the system be better distributed for the good of the health care workers and to provide health services worthy to the people of Quebec.”

Meanwhile, here is the daydream of every doctor everywhere else in the world:

But we all can’t be as kind as Canadians, I suppose.
