In an incredibly rare occurrence, this kitten was born with two faces in South Africa. And despite the incredible odds stacked against her, she continues to survive, and the internet can’t get enough of her.
This little cutie-pie is named Bettie Bee, and she was born with two noses, two mouths and three eyes. This rare feat is absolutely adorable, yet extremely complicated. You see, since many of her facial features are doubled, it makes it incredibly difficult for her to nurse, which led many vets worried she would starve to death.
The original owner of this special little kitten had to give her up to a special-needs cat rescuer who has successfully been able to feed her with tubes.
In an e-mail to Newsweek, the rescuer, who wishes to remain anonymous, said, “can feed either mouth, both are functional, both lead to the stomach.”
The condition is known in the medical community as craniofacial duplication, or diprosopus. It’s a condition that has appeared in not only cats, but pigs, cattle, and even humans!
If you’re looking for all the updates on Bettie Bee, a Facebook page has been created so you can stay up to date on all of her life events. It certainly will be one of the more uplifting Facebook pages you can follow.
Hopefully this little rascal can stay healthy and live a long and fruitful life!
