A Satanic Temple Just Adopted A Highway — A Highway To Hell It Would Seem

By

If you’re a big fan of AC/DC, you are probably familiar with their hit, “Highway to Hell.” It’s a classic song and the rock legends made a ton of money from it. Some of the imagery from the song may want certain people to take a drive on a literal “highway to hell.” Well those people are in luck! Because The Satanic Temple of Arizona just adopted a stretch of highway.

The 10-mile stretch that has been adopted by the Satanists runs on the I-10 near Casa Grande. They aren’t placing hexes on the road though, they actually have the best of intentions with their adoption. You may actually see them along the highway doing some cleanup with – get this – pitchforks.

I just want to clean up a highway. Please give me a highway to clean up, and they said fine,” said the group’s leader, America Curl. All they needed to to was fill out a form and pay a fee, and they were able to adopt the stretch that runs from Phoenix to Tucson.

“People have this perception that one side does the good stuff and the other side does all the bad stuff,” said one of the founding members of The Satanic Temple of Arizona, Stu de Haan, “What we are really showing here is that Satanism is a legitimate religion, even though it’s non-theistic. We are showing the people do have a sense of community and they want to get involved.”

Maybe we should abandon the “evil” label most people give to Satanists and be thankful for their contributions to our society. This is actually pretty awesome. We should aspire to be more like these Satanists!
