The Philadelphia 76ers are still in “rebuilding mode,” but that could change very quickly now that Ben Simmons is there.

While there are some concerns about the No. 1 overall selection’s conditioning after he dealt with cramping issues in summer league, Sixers fans should still feel confident about his skills that already seem ready to transfer to the NBA.

Philly head coach Brett Brown has likened Simmons to LeBron and Magic for his athleticism and passing abilities. He even compared him to Chris Paul after showing off that stellar court vision during summer league.

On Thursday, Simmons did everything on the court in just 28 minutes against the Utah Jazz youngsters.

He scored six points to go with seven rebounds and six assists, including this beauty.

And this one:

And this no-look pass to the corner has “LeBron” written all over it.

Certainly Simmons will have to go up against more complex defenses after the real season begins, but his ability to survey the floor and make quick decisions is already one of the best I’ve ever seen.

Don’t be surprised if Ben is playing point guard when the Sixers start to get good.
