Brock Osweiler and Lamar Miller Sign with Texans

The Houston Texans are going to have a brand new look on offense next season.

Despite the Denver Broncos’ best efforts to re-sign Brock Osweiler, the 6-foot-7 quarterback will take his talents to head coach Bill O’Brien’s offense in the Space City.

Just moments after the Osweiler news broke, former Miami Dolphins running back Lamar Miller reached an agreement with the Texans, giving Osweiler his first new weapon.

What a difference a day can make!

Apparently Osweiler wasn’t pleased with his benching at the end of the regular season in favor of Peyton Manning. Since Peyton wasn’t exactly the Peyton of old, many argue the Broncos still would have won the Super Bowl with Brock behind center and perhaps could have played even better offensively.

Let’s just hope Brock has a little more luck in Houston than Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett did. He clearly doesn’t react well to being benched. We don’t want another one of these moments happening.

Last week the Texans released star running back Arian Foster after another injury-riddled season. The signing of Miller gives them a young, healthy back that looks to be one of the NFL’s best (10 TDs, 1,269 yards rushing and receiving in 2015).

So O’Brien is finally going to get his chance. We’ve always known Houston has one of the league’s premier defenses, but the quarterback position has always been their problem. O’Brien gets his quarterback and a running back that’s not going to tear a ligament every time he’s handed a football.

The Texans will definitely be a team to watch out for next season.
