Though Carmelo Anthony and his wife, La La Anthony, aren’t on the best of terms, the actress and television personality is as plugged in as one can get to the New York Knicks star’s potential offseason moves.
After months of Phil Jackson hoping to trade Anthony—and Anthony brandishing a deserved no-trade clause while insisting on remaining on a team that wanted him out so they could start rebuilding—Jackson is (finally) out as the president of basketball operations.
And according to La La, Carmelo could be on his way out too.
“That is a real possibility,” La La said on Watch What Happens Live when asked if Carmelo will the Knicks this summer. “So we’ll see what happens, I’m watching like everybody else. Every day, it’s like a different team. My hope is that he ends up somewhere where he’s happy and he can win, because he’s such an incredible player and he deserves to win.”
According to ESPN, Carmelo is now willing to waive his no-trade clause if it means ending up with the Cleveland Cavaliers, to play with his good friend LeBron James, or the Houston Rockets, to whom another friend of his, Chris Paul, was traded earlier this summer.
La La also said there’s a possibility her and her husband will reconcile: “Anything is possible.”
