“They’re doing a nice job. It’s nice having two point guards out there,” Walton said. “I’m a big fan of high basketball IQ, and both of them being point guards and the type of point guards they are, are near the top of that list.”

Perhaps the Lakers head coach who loves high IQ players wasn’t looking, then, when Thomas threw a pass so bad he would have been better off punting the ball into the upper deck.

Yeah, I wasn’t kidding.
Despite the pass to their opponents to kick of a fast break, each point guard came off the bench to score 13 points and dish five assists in their 123-104 win over the league-worst Hawks, though IT went 4-of-10 from the field to get there and Ball didn’t miss any of his four field goal attempts.
Before the game, Ball said Thomas is constantly dishing advice to the rookie.
“Every time I see him, he always has something to tell me, so that’s good,” Ball said. “Yesterday, made me drink a lot of water, keep hydrated for the day, so thank him for everything.”

Hydration is wonderful, but maybe don’t take any advice Thomas might have on setting teammates up to score.
