Johnny Manziel's friends aren't the only people fearing for his life.
The former Cleveland Browns quarterback's father is so worried about Johnny Football's health that he hopes the 2014 first-round draft pick gets thrown in jail before it's too late.
"He's a druggie. It's not a secret that he's a druggie," Paul Manziel told ESPN. "I don't know what to say other than my son is a druggie and he needs help. He just hasn't seeked it yet. Hopefully he doesn't die before he comes to his senses."
Last week, Manziel's lawyer accidentally leaked a text message that announced he'd be willing to accept a plea deal in an assault case against Manziel so long as it doesn't require drug testing.
“Heaven help us if one of the conditions is to pee in a bottle,” wrote the free agent's attorney, Robert Hinton.
In addition to the assault case, in which he's accused of violence against his ex-girlfriend, Manziel is embroiled in multiple lawsuits, one of which claims Manziel left a rented mansion littered with drugs, including cocaine and psychedelic mushrooms.
"I don't know what else to say," Paul Manziel said. "I hate to say it but I hope he goes to jail. I mean, that would be the best place for him. So we'll see."
