Faced with the mere sight of Kyrie Irving, his Cleveland Cavaliers teammate (for now) LeBron James would consider resorting to violence—that is, if you believe the word of Stephen A. Smith.
The professional sports yeller told a caller, Charles, as much on his radio show on Monday.
“I’ve had sources in LeBron James’ camp literally tell me, and I’m quoting—I’m quoting, Charles!—if Kyrie Irving was in front of LeBron James right now, LeBron James would be tempted, quote, to beat his ass, end quote,” Smith said.
The host added that LeBron isn’t angry over Irving’s recent trade request, but “is upset that Kyrie has made him a subject to be broached with regard to Kyrie’s desire to move out.”
Smith also told Charles that Kyrie has been “salty” about LeBron’s presence ever since the Ohio native returned to Cleveland in 2014 after four seasons with the Miami Heat.
“Kyrie signed a five-year deal in excess of $90 million, right before LeBron returned to Cleveland, like a week or two before LeBron returned to Cleveland,” Smith said. “Kyrie did not know that LeBron was coming back to Cleveland. So Kyrie was salty from that moment.”
