On Wednesday, an Oklahoma City Thunder player was excoriated by fans of his former team for doing what OKC’s fans had blasted their own former star for doing a season earlier: electing to play elsewhere.

For the first time ever, Paul George played against the Indiana Pacers, the team with which he spent the first seven years of his career. He was traded to the Thunder this summer, after expressing his desire to play elsewhere once his contract ends in 2018.

Fans at the Pacers’ Bankers Life Fieldhouse responded by showing their appreciation. Take Sign Guy, for example.

This guy came to the arena with a nod to how Thunder fans treated Kevin Durant in his first game as a visitor at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

George was booed during pregame intros.

Then throughout the game, Pacers fans booed their former star every time he touched the ball. While he shot free throws not a minute into the contest, the camera even caught some dudes in Paul George jerseys booing Paul George.

In fact, that guy with the cupcake sign? Yeah, he was wearing a Paul George jersey too.

I guess it’s more fiscally responsible than burning them.

Anyway, George shot like ass (3-of-14 for 12 points) but got his revenge, I suppose, as the Thunder won 100-95.
