Outside of some light-hearted kicker pissing contests and a competition that involved catching footballs dropped by drones from great heights, the NFL Pro Bowl and its surrounding festivities were rather boring.
Thankfully, the Ad Council took the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, packed full of spectators watching great to above-average football players half-heartedly go through football motions, and turned it into something actually worthwhile: an important message about the power of love.
Updating the Kiss Cam tradition, the in-stadium camera captured love of all forms, knowing no gender, race, religion, age, or disability for a spot called "Fans of Love."
“On Valentine’s Day ‘Fans of Love’ highlights that love has the power to bring people together regardless of our differences—a message that is more important now than ever,” said Lisa Sherman, president and CEO of the Ad Council. “We hope that this new creative will encourage all of us to reflect on our own biases and the role we can play in creating a more accepting and inclusive world.”
The message is particularly powerful in coming from Orlando, which was rocked by a mass shooting in June 2016 at Pulse, a gay nightclub in the city.
