Major League Baseball has made official what we already knew was coming: Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor will be suspended for treating sports fans for generations to come to one of the most glorious sports-brawl punches you'll ever see.
I say "glorious" because the duff to the face of Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista managed to be both professional boxer-looking as hell, and involved two players prepared for such a punch—unlike the career-ending, high-speed collision between Kermit Washington's fist and Rudy Tomjanovich's face.
Instead, if you watch in slow motion, Bautista is definitely clenching a fist to get ready for a possible punch of his own.
Anyway, the league has announced Odor will be suspended eight games for his actions.
Though, judging by this scrap he got into in the minors in 2011, it doesn't look like Odor's suspension will discourage future face-punchings.
Oh, and the whole reason Odor got upset in the first place—a spikes-first breakup slide from Bautista during a double play—probably shouldn't have gotten Odor all that riled up in the first place, considering, you know, he does it all the time.

Odor was also fined $5,000.
