Almost two months ago, Gisele Bundchen revealed that her husband Tom Brady had suffered multiple concussions during the 2016 NFL season.
Because concussions are to be reported to the league and can then keep players off the field, the failure to report such a head injury is not only dangerous, it’s cheating.
After weeks of silence and avoiding the issue altogether, the New England Patriots quarterback was finally questioned about his wife’s comments on ESPN’s E:60 on Sunday.
Kevin Negandhi asked Brady: “[Gisele] sees the hits, she was vocal about that, most recently on CBS about the concussions, how much do you talk to her about those hits that you take?”
Like an oncoming blitz, Brady artfully dodged the suggestion that he’d suffered a concussion, without dismissing the notion that he had. Brady wasn’t
“She’s there every day,” the Patriots quarterback said. “I mean, we go to bed in the same bed every night, so I think she knows when I’m sore, she knows when I’m tired, she knows when I get hit. We drive home together [from games]. But, she also knows how well I take care of myself. She’s a very concerned wife and very loving.”
Well played, Brady.
