The New England Patriots gifted the Baltimore Ravens a golden opportunity to reinsert themselves into what was a Patriots blowout until the second half on Monday Night Football.

Just over six minutes into the third quarter, New England special teamer Cyrus Jones muffed a punt at his own three-yard line before a Ravens recovery and a touchdown two plays later.

The Pats then fumbled again on the ensuing kickoff (this time it was Patrick Onwuasor). The Ravens responded with another touchdown, this time traveling an entire 22 yards to the end zone to quickly make 23-3 laugher into a 23-17 affair.

A field goal midway through the fourth quarter brought the Ravens to within three.

But on the first play of the following drive, quarterback Tom Brady all but ended things with a beautiful deep ball to an in-stride Chris Hogan.

Watch how expertly he bates Ravens safety Eric Weddle with a staredown of wideout Malcolm Mitchell, only to change course at the last moment to find the speedster Hogan over the top.

The play simultaneously deprived Weddle of his victory gallon of ice cream.

Brady completed 25-of-38 passes for 406 yards, three touchdowns, and one pick in the 30-23 victory. After the Dallas Cowboys' loss to the New York Giants on Sunday, the Patriots are tied with Dallas for the NFL's best record, at 11-2.

"It was a big game for us," Brady said. "You play at home in December on Monday night against a great defense, it was important for us to come out and play well. We knew it was gonna be a 60-minute game."
