Just three years into his NBA career, Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard has already accomplished so much on the hardwood.

The Weber State product out of Oakland already has two All-Star selections, a unanimous Rookie of the Year award, and an All-NBA third team honor to his credit, plus a playoff series-winning bomb.

And now he's trying to make a name for himself in an entirely different realm: the rap game.

Lillard's lyrical skills were first put on national display when he showed up to Sway's radio show with a few nice bars in his pocket.

Then he dropped a full song, "Soldier in the Game," on his Soundcloud account under the name Dame DOLLA, and it already has over 750,000 views.

Now Lillard's sights are on a full album.

"I plan on putting out a short album," he told Basketball Insiders. "I want to do it way before the season is even creeping up on us; I want to get something done early. But it’s already done. If I do put something out, it’s not something that I need to do now, it’s already done. I recorded a lot stuff. But the crazy thing is, I don’t spend a lot of time doing it. I have things that I do. I work out twice a day, I get my lift in, I hang out with my family and I’ve just been relaxing a lot. But some nights, I decide to go the studio and do some music just to give myself some balance, to put my mind in a different place and kind of put my emotions out there a little bit. I don’t spend a lot of time doing it, so it’s been kind of funny to see people like, ‘Oh he better get in the gym!’"

If only the offense-first point guard could be as defensive on the court as he is about how much time he dedicates to rap.
