According to the Albuquerque Journal, Brandao, who trains at the famed Jackson-Wink gym, was charged with aggravated battery and three counts of aggravated assault.
Brandao allegedly got into an argument with a DJ inside a club called Knockouts. Brandao left the club after the argument, but returned, looking to gain entrance. He was not allowed inside and reportedly attempted to punch employees of the establishment before leaving a second time.
Once again Brandao returned to the club, this time reportedly holding a gun, which he pointed at a patron and an employee. He then struck the employee with the gun.
Brandao has been a member of the UFC since he won season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter in 2011. His record with the promotion is 6-4, most recently losing to Brian Ortega via submission in January. Shortly after that loss, Brandao was suspended after marijuana metabolites were found in his post-fight drug test.
Brandao was being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center. His bond was set at $15,000.
The UFC has not yet responded the report on Brandao.
