Project Grudge

From February 1949 to late 1951, the US Air Force dedicated a decent amount of time and energy into the investigation of UFOs — specifically, into the premise that UFOs were the result of extraterrestrials.
Project Grudge was approached with a tremendous amount of skepticism, however, which led to little or no actual investigation into UFO sightings.

In 1957 and 1958, the US Army Chemical Corps. was working to determine the geographic range of chemical agents. Their best means of doing so? By dispersing zinc cadmium sulfide into the atmosphere over a huge portion of the country.
1961 Goldsboro B-52 crash

Just outside of Goldsboro, North Carolina on January 24th, the pilots of a B-52 Stratofortress lost control of the aircraft and were forced to abandon it.
As the B-52 broke up, however, it lost the two 3-4 megaton thermonuclear bombs on board, which landed — and nearly detonated — on a farm in Faro.
