Neighbor Cuts Down Man’s Tree, Pays $1.2 Million

Michael’s pulsed raced like an Olympian going for gold. He shot through his back door and to find where the sounds had come from. He shouting and tried to get their attention.

He didn’t agree to this. The tree cutter stopped and looked at him. He took out his cellphone and handed it over to him.

Dream House

Michael and his wife, Emma, lived in Nashville, Tenessee. They had just moved into their beautiful house and wanted to change a few things to make it their own.

Their yard seemed identical to every other one in the neighborhood. They had trees lining their property line and wanted to change that a bit.

The Trees

What they did love about their property were the oak trees that lined the garden. It was one of the main reasons they bought the property.

The problem that was in their property was the mulberry trees that littered the yard. They asked around town for quotes on tree felling so they could take care of the pesky mulberry trees.

A Strange Request

The problem really started after they got all the quotes from the neighborhood. The mulberry trees were always blocking out their afternoon sun. But they didn’t know the turn things would take.

They were happy with the oak trees, they loved them, they gave them all sorts of privacy from the road. At the time Michael didn’t think too much of the strange request from his neighbor.

Pure Luxury

Just before Michael and his wife moved in, their neighbor had renovated his porch, adding a pizza oven, a jacuzzi, the works. So he had something to ask of them.

Michael was a little jealous, but this new addition posed a new problem.
