Celebrities Whose Personal Lives Got in the Way of Their Incredible Careers
Hollywood is one of the toughest industries to break into. It’s also one of the easiest industries to get kicked out of. Just ask any of the celebs on this list who found themselves blacklisted, in some cases, permanently!
These celebrities were once on top of the world, but one little mistake was all it took to find themselves getting cancelled. From inappropriate tweets to bad conduct on the set; these were just some of the reasons why these talented celebrities got sidelined.
Mel Gibson
Mel Gibson is known for starring in some timeless classics like “Braveheart” and directing epic films like “The Passion of the Christ.” Unfortunately, his career was sidelined when he caused a terrible accident while driving under the influence.
Not long after that, Gibson went on an antisemitic rant that resulted in his cancellation from Hollywood. But his demise was only temporary and has reportedly learned from his mistakes. He has since starred in a sleuth of films like 2020’s “Boss Level” and “Fatman.”
He also has a couple of projects from 2021 and 22 that are in post-production.
Shannen Doherty
Shannen Doherty played Brenda Walsh on “Beverly Hills 90210” in the 1990s. But she was reportedly difficult to work with and ended up leaving the show. Despite this, she landed another popular role as the witch, Prue Halliwell on “Charmed.”
But she was written off the show after three seasons and rumors claimed it was because she was having a tiff with her co-star Alyssa Milano. At that point, Doherty was blacklisted and rarely appeared in anything.
But she recently appeared on the news for fighting stage 4 cancer and has also come to the defense of the rebooted CW “Charmed” series.
Justin Bieber
Pop music star Justin Bieber had the looks and the talent to make it big in Hollywood. Unfortunately, he did a couple of things that made him look bad like getting a monkey and then abandoning it in a foreign country.
Then there’s a video that emerged in 2014 that allegedly showed Bieber making a bad joke using a racist word to reference Black people and joked about joining the KKK in another video. He also punched a fan in the face in Barcelona. And the list goes on and on.
Rose McGowan
Rose McGowan played Paige Matthews, the 4th sister on “Charmed” after Shannen Doherty left the series. But in recent years, she has been quietly blacklisted for Hollywood for her militant attitude on social media which includes ripping into Oprah Winfrey in a scathing rant and claiming she is as fake as they come. She also went on anti-LGBT rant directed at gay man which she has since apologized for. And most recently, she went on a hateful rant aimed at Netflix staff over the backlash surrounding Netflix and Dave Chappelle’s comedy special. And if that wasn’t bad enough, she has gone after her former “Charmed” co-star Alyssa Milano on Twitter a few times as well.
