Do You Remember These One-Hit Wonders From the ’70s?

Music is probably one of the greatest forms of cultural symbolism that you can find in just about any era throughout history.

As such, a good song can be one of the most powerful things for both waking up emotions and making a huge difference in the world in some way, shape, or form. Some might even become one-hit wonders, while others stay with us throughout the decades.

Do you have what it takes to remember all of these one-hit wonders from the ’70s?

“Cruel to be Kind” by Nick Lowe is also one of the best songs you probably know, especially if you are the ’80s or ’90s kid. It was performed in the classic film known as 10 Things I Hate About You, and it was originally released in 1979.

It managed to reach number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and it made Lowe a one-hit-wonder as a result which is why we simply had to put in on this list.

“Third Rate Romance” by the Amazing Rhythm Aces is a 1975 song that was really cool, or at least, a lot of people thought that it was at the time.

It was about a cheap one-night stand that happens after a man and a woman meet at a restaurant, and go straight to, well, bed.

This song reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is spectacular and is being heard by millions to this very day, which is impressive.

“Angel in Your Arms” by Hot is a 1985 song that truly topped the UK Billboard top 100 charts at number 6, and went on to become the top R&B song throughout many other charts in the country as a result.

The sassy song became a hit due to the fact that it told a story of a woman that wants her love to know he’s not the only one cheating around town, which, for some reason, really connected with a lot of listeners.

Layla by Derek and The Dominos definitely deserves a spot on this list. Eric Clapton is not a one-hit-wonder, however, this song from the band Derek and the Dominos was.

This single was a part of an album with the title Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. This song was written based on Clapton’s unrequited feelings for a woman that was the wife of the Beatles George Harrison, which came as a shock to people who found this out.
