Drake’s an addict, but it’s not drugs that have the 6 God hooked; it’s ink.
The OVO crew leader met with his regular tattoo artist, Inal Bersekov, in Toronto this weekend to add another famous face to his collection: none other than Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington. Bersekov broke the news of the fresh ink on Instagram, revealing that Washington’s likeness on Drake’s skin would be that of his 1990 “Mo’ Better Blues” character, Bleek Gilliam.
With the new Denzel ink, Drake upped up his total tattoo count to a whopping 30 individual designs. The “Hotline Bling” artist is no stranger to famous faces gracing his perfectly toned arms and chest, as his recently-unveiled Weezy tattoo made headlines after its July reveal.
Thanking Drake for his trust on such a personal, intimate, and permanent decision, Bersekov then shared another photo of Drake’s fresh ink in honor of FIF, a friend and affiliate of OVO Sound that recently passed away. The “Take Care” rapper addressed FIF’s passing in an emotional Instagram post, captioning the candid photo, “RIP to one of our family members…our brother… I still can’t even believe this morning was real. It was a honor to have shared years together and I will always keep your memory alive 😔Forever Fif.”
The tattoo captured both the candid image and caption with minimalistic, clean lines and a simple “Forever Fif.”
