Justin Bieber made his MTV VMAs comeback when he performed on stage for the first time in five years. It was quite the emotional performance for the Biebs who broke down and cried at the end of his performance.
It had us all wondering: what was Bieber so emotional about? Why was Bieber so sad?!
The 21-year-old crooner explained the tearful performance Wednesday night on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon."
"It was so overwhelming for me, everything, just the performance. I missed some cues, so I was a little disappointed at that, and just everyone and just their support. I was, honestly, let me breathe for a second, I just wasn't expecting them to support me in the way they did,” Justin said. “Last time I was at an awards show, I was booed."
With all that Bieber has been through in the past the singer has come to realize what’s important, which is working hard on his music and becoming a better example to others.
"I think it's just like I've worked so hard at this album, I've worked so hard at just becoming the man I want to become, and then stepping into situations, you just can't help but feel judged," Biebs continued.
"So, I was just feeling judged and wanting to win so badly, and just wanting to do what I love so badly that I just put everything on the line. And I think that that was what was so special about the emotional moment at the end, that it was authentic. It was real. It was like, I was really just wanting it so bad. I don't know. I'm just ranting now."
Although the rant did stop there, he performed yet another flawless rendition of his new single “What Do You Mean?” last night. The single became the fastest number one song on iTunes in under five minutes. Can’t say we hate him for that.
