Predictions “Demolition Man” Made That We’re Still Waiting On
As a society, we constantly look forward, allowing curiosity to lead us down new paths to the future. Our biggest source of inspiration: science-fiction films. “Demolition Man” is a 1993 sci-fi movie starring Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes.
Set in 2026 in “San Angeles,” it features a fair amount of predictions about the future that have yet to come true.
So these are the predictions Demolition Man made that the world is still waiting for. And the clock is ticking.
Specialized Cars

We already have sleek cars with all sorts of tech like GPS, backup cameras, voice control, Bluetooth, etc. But why not have more? In “Demolition Man,” they have cars that adjust to your physicality.
There’s even an auto-drive mode so you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
Apocalyptic LA

Since the realization that California sits on the San Andreas Fault we have not been able to stop talking about it. We know it’s probably just a matter of time till another bad earthquake happens, but how bad will it be?
To the extent of films like “Demolition Man”? Only time will tell.
Cryogenics

A futuristic rehab program for prisoners. In the cryoprison, new skills ranging from knitting to martial arts are uploaded to your brain. Of course, this entire concept would violate our constitutional rights.
But if everyone could download new abilities, we could all be superheroes.
Clean Cities

With a clean, apocalyptic slate, we could try to repair any damage done to the environment. So for every negative, there is a light of positivity at the end of the tunnel. In the future, there’s no smog or pollution.
We can hope that this rings true for the years ahead.
