Prince William Takes 2 Week Paternity Leave

Matt Dekneef

Like all fathers in the United Kingdom, Prince William is no exception (uh, besides the heir to the throne part); he’s entitled to paid paternity leave following the birth of his child.

Under British law, William’s entitled to a flat pay rate of 137 pounds ($206) a week, allowing him to take some time off work and spend it with his new son.

Given our more modern times, it’s no surprise really that William would want to take advantage of his leave.

Along with equally sharing parenting responsibilities with his wife, Kate Middleton, he’s also the first senior royal to receive statutory paternity leave, introduced in Britain in 2003.
