As far as celeb moms go, there’s no one quite as infamous as Nadya Suleman. Doesn that name not ring a bell? Well, you may know her better as the “Octomom.” Because she’s the woman who successfully giving birth to octuplets in 2009.

But Suleman’s fame hit a few bumps in the years after her famous pregnancy. So we’re going to look at who she was then and what Octomom and her kids are up to now…

Nadya Suleman and her husband Marcos Gutierrez wanted to start a family. But as badly as they wanted it, life threw them an unexpected curveball that made their dreams of having children seem impossible.

After undergoing a series of tests and procedures, Suleman learned her husband Marcos was sterile. So Suleman suggested in vitro fertilization (IVF). But he was opposed to the idea. This put her in a tough spot.

Forced to Choose

Suleman wanted nothing more but to have kids with the man she loved, but that wasn’t possible. So she ended her relationship in order to pursue her dreams of using IVF and finally becoming a mom. But things didn’t exactly go the way she planned.

Playing the Odds

There’s power in numbers. Doctors usually recommend using several eggs in order to increase the odds that one egg will stick during the process. But most IVF recipients run the risk of giving birth to multiple babies. Not that Nadya would mind.

She knew there were risks, but she wanted to be a mom no matter what.
