Fox is keeping a lot about its upcoming X-Men titles under wraps.

It was impressive that we went as long as we did before hearing about Logan. Clearly the studio is aiming to keep things quiet about its movies until they’re ready to give a big reveal; a strategy which comic book movie fans will notice is the complete opposite of what DC and Marvel are doing.

Rumors circulate about a potential new title called X-Men: Supernova, which will take the new cast of young X-Men actors, as seen in Apocalypse, and blast them into space for a Guardians of the Galaxy style movie.

Fox can never be accused of missing an opportunity to ride a trend, it seems.

These rumors are far from confirmed, as most people involved with the project are fairly tight-lipped.

Apparently, though, at the very least, Sophie Turner is going to be appearing in this mystery movie.

The actor, who played Jean Grey in Apocalypse, confirmed to HeyUGuys that she’ll be filming at least one X-Men project this year:

“We’re about to start shooting the next X-Men, we’ve just finished shooting Season 7 of [Game of] Thrones, and I’ve got a couple of movies to do before X-Men starts. And then we go on to Season 8.”

While this quote at first suggests that filming will commence very soon, the fact that Turner has “a couple of movies” to do before suiting up as Jean Grey suggests there’s still a few months before this project will kick off.

Or, alternatively, we might get to see some of Jean Grey in John Boone’s New Mutants movie as well.

Regardless, fans of Sansa Stark can at least take solace in the fact that Turner will be showing up in a future X-Men movie, although there may be a fairly sizeable wait until the film actually reaches theaters.
