Tom Cruise: Acting Is as Hard as Fighting in Afghanistan

Madison Vanderberg

Tom Cruise just found himself in some REALLY HOT water. The actor just said that his job is as difficult as fighting the war in Afghanistan.

Oh, no he didn’t!

Tom Cruise has officially lost touch with reality; he is so famous, he thinks that Top Gun was the same thing as fighting in the Middle East.

Tom is suing In Touch for publishing a story that claims he has allegedly abandoned his daughter Suri Cruise and let that gem slip out during his deposition. Besides comparing acting to real-life combat, he also revealed a ton of other wildly enlightening tidbits about his tough life as a movie star.

-He says acting is like fighting a war, “That’s what it feels like. And certainly on this last movie, it was brutal. It was brutal.”

-He thinks he works harder than Olympic runners, “There is difficult physical stamina and preparation. Sometimes I’ve spent months, a year, and sometimes two years preparing for a single film. A sprinter for the Olympics, they only have to run two races a day. When I’m shooting, I could potentially have to run 30, 40 races a day, day after day.”

-He says he’s so good at telling stories, he doesn’t even need to see his daughter anymore, he can just paint a picture over the phone. “I’ve gotten very good at [talking on the phone]. I’ve gotten very good at it. I tell wonderful stories and they like hearing it.”

-He has only flown on a commercial airplane once in the last four years and it was only because he HAD NO CHOICE.
