From flame-grilled hot dogs to a Whopper-burrito hybrid called the Whopperrito, Burger King appears to be suffering nothing short of an identity crisis as the chain continues to stray from it’s famous burger menu with new food items that, well—resemble nothing of a burger!
The latest addition to Burger King’s menu now includes something called “Mac n' Cheetos” and it’s exactly as it sounds, except weirder. Served in a similar box as an order of fries, the new menu item consists of five giant breaded Cheeto Puffs stuffed with warm and melty mac and cheese.

The partnership between Burger King and Pepsi Cola’s Frito Lays—the parent company of Cheetos—could possibly be inspired by the success of Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos Tacos, which include a crunchy taco shell infused with various Dorito flavors that include Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese. While Burger King has stayed mum on the release of Mac n' Cheetos, it appears the five-pack will be sold for about eight weeks or until the chain runs out, according to Bloomberg.
“We’re partnering up with one of Americans’ favorite brands,” Alex Macedo, president of Burger King North America, said in an interview. “It’s quite unique.”
Mac ‘n Cheetos are currently being tested at select Burger King locations with sightings around California and Indiana. Similar to mozzarella sticks, the new snack is deep fried and goes for $2.49 per pop. Get 'em while they're hot.
