With all the controversy surrounding Chipotle lately, it was only a matter of time before we got a look at what really happens behind the scenes. And if you’ve ever worked in retail or food service or really any customer service role for that matter, you’ve probably had to watch a ridiculous employee training video.
A lot of times, these videos just give you the perfect example of how to f*ck everything up. For example, when I worked retail in high school, they showed us a video about loss prevention, which basically just taught everyone how to steal clothing and not get caught. And everyone got away with it.
Anyway, Conan O’Brien, being the late-night angel that he is, “leaked” Chipotle’s newest employee training video and it is absolutely EVERYTHING.
The video gives tips for preserving the impeccable food handling and health standards that Chipotle is known for, like not bringing your pets to work, not changing the old, discolored sour cream label to “guacamole,” and not using chicken broth to wipe down the counters.
While all of those guidelines hit the nail on the head, I think the best and most important tip the video gives is to “stop organizing vegetables by ‘insertability,’” because obviously.
No word from Chipotle on the leak of the video, but maybe they really should take all of these tips into consideration.
