Unless you live under a rock, you know that Chipotle closed its doors across the United States yesterday for a publicity stunt to make people think they were um, deep cleaning everything? Or going over safety regulations? Something like that. Anyway, to apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused, Chipotle offered free burritos to anyone who wanted one.
All you had to do was text “raincheck” to the number 888-222 to receive a coupon for a free burrito, but because people are dumb and don’t pay attention to anything when it comes to getting free sh*t, some unfortunate souls texted the wrong number.
Some geniuses wishing to receive their complimentary burrito did NOT text the Chipotle robots; instead, they texted a dude named Henry Levine, whose cell number is 888-2222, which is very similar to the Chipotle number.
Levine had a good attitude about the whole thing, and even tweeted at Chipotle to let them know so the people who couldn’t follow proper instructions could get their free coupon.

Unfortunately, Chipotle gave zero effs about the whole thing, as we can all see by the email his daughter-in-law tweeted out from them.
Update: Chipotle rep just said that she doesn't care to reach the 100+ people who got my F-I-L, not free burritos. pic.twitter.com/KDV3fUc7SU

Sure, Hank is “so sweet” for wanting to give the people what they want, but Chipotle seems to have a different mentality about the whole thing.
Probably not the best way to treat customers after that whole E. coli thing, but whatever.
